Here is the 2021 The Daily News All-Area baseball team, as decided by the coaches and the newspaper’s sports staff.
Brandon Bannerman, Southwest: The sophomore outfielder hit .479 with 28 runs, 16 RBIs, six doubles and 19 stolen bases to help the Stallions go 12-4 overall, 11-3 in the Coastal 8 1-A/2-A Conference and advance to the second round of the NCHSAA 2-A playoffs. He was also named to the all-conference team.
Robert Beatty, Swansboro: The senior catcher/third baseman batted .514 with 12 RBIs, 11 runs, two doubles and three triples for the Pirates, who went 5-7 overall and 5-5 in the Coastal 3-A Conference. He was also named all-conference.
Owen Bellamy, Croatan: The junior pitcher/catcher/infielder hit .457 with 20 RBIs, 15 runs, 10 doubles, one triple and one home run. He also went 2-0 with a 1.91 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 22 innings pitched to help the Cougars go 14-1 overall, 14-0 in the Coastal 8 1-A/2-A Conference and play in the NCHSAA 2-A playoffs. He was also named all-conference.
Ryan Bellamy, Croatan: The senior left-handed pitcher/first baseman batted .532 with 23 runs, 19 RBIs, six doubles and one home run. He also went 3-1 with a 2.75 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings. He was also all-conference.

Logan Brown, East Duplin: The senior first baseman/pitcher hit .468 with 24 RBIs, 10 runs, four doubles and three home runs. He also went 3-0 with a 2.41 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings to help the Panthers go 10-3 overall, 10-2 in the East Central 2-A Conference and qualify for the NCHSAA playoffs. Brown was all-conference and was a 2019 all-area player.
Zach Brown, East Duplin: The freshman third baseman hit .405 with 19 runs and 15 RBIs. He was named to the All-East Central Conference team.
Nick Cavenaugh, East Duplin: The junior outfielder/left-handed pitcher batted .356 with 17 runs, 12 RBIs, two doubles and three triples. He also went 4-2 with a 1.18 ERA with 52 strikeouts in 29 2/3 innings. He was also all-conference.
Tommy Dowler, Southwest: The senior first baseman/pitcher hit .509 with 19 runs, 15 RBIs and six doubles. He also went 4-1 with a 1.70 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings. He was also named to the Coastal 8 All-Conference team.
Cooper Ferguson, Jacksonville: The senior shortstop/second baseman/third baseman batted .467 with 10 runs, six RBIs and two doubles to help the Cardinals go 7-4 overall, 7-3 in the Coastal 3-A Conference and qualify for the NCHSAA playoffs. He was all-area in 2019 and all-conference this season.
Kaden Foy, Southwest: The junior outfielder hit .452 with 17 runs and 13 RBIs and he stole 12 bases.
Jaden Gonzales, Southwest: The junior shortstop hit .500 with 18 runs, 15 RBIs, eight doubles and he stole 11 bases.
Sam Hoy, Croatan: The junior infielder hit .452 with 23 RBIs, 17 runs, four doubles, two triples and a home run.
Brady Johnson, East Duplin: The senior outfielder/second baseman batted .349 with 16 runs, 12 RBIs and one triple. He was also all-conference.
Matthew Lasater, Croatan: The senior outfielder hit .524 with 25 runs, 16 RBIs, five doubles, four triples and a home run. He was also named all-conference.
Matthew McCray, Croatan: The junior infielder batted .457 with 24 runs, 10 RBIs, four doubles, one triple and one home run. He was also named all-conference.
Brody Meyer, Jacksonville: The senior pitcher/infielder went 2-3 with a 3.50 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 28 innings. He will play at Carroll University next season. He was also named to the Coastal 3-A All-Conference team.
Trent Murchison, Jacksonville: The junior outfielder batted .412 with 12 runs, 11 RBIs, two doubles, three triples and he had 12 stolen bases. He was also all-area in 2019 and all-conference this season.
Quintrel Pearson, White Oak: The junior first baseman/pitcher hit .522 with 21 RBIs, 17 runs, eight doubles and a home run and had eight stolen bases. He also went 2-3 with a 3.89 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 18 innings. He was named to the Coastal 3-A All-Conference team.
Connor Shoulders, Dixon: The sophomore pitcher went 2-3 with a 4.12 ERA and 18 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings. He was also on the Coastal 8 All-Conference team.
Dominic Szybka, Southwest: The junior catcher/infielder batted .611 with 23 runs, 15 RBIs, five doubles and a triple. He also threw out 10 runners. He was all-area in 2019 and all-conference this season.
Chad White, White Oak: The junior shortstop/pitcher/utility hit .314 with 15 runs, 11 RBIs and two doubles. He also went 3-2 with a 3.20 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings. He was also all-conference.
Tanner Whitehead, Southwest: The sophomore second baseman/shortstop/pitcher batted .383 with 18 runs, 17 RBIs and three doubles. He was also 3-1 with a 3.95 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 28 1/3 innings.
