Previous Wildcat Chip Hale returns as Arizona baseball head coach

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD Information 13) – Arizona Athletics declared on Monday, July 5, that former Wildcats participant Chip Hale has been named baseball head mentor.

Hale is the sixth head mentor in Arizona baseball’s modern-day background, and the 17th general. He will acquire a five-12 months contract, pending acceptance from the Arizona Board of Regents.

“I am thrilled and enthusiastic to have Chip lead our iconic baseball program,” stated Vice President and Director of Athletics Dave Heeke. “Chip has lengthy been a member of the Wildcat Relatives as a former student-athlete and has constantly remained shut to our College and to our Tucson community.”

Hale returns to Tucson from Detroit, in which he served as the 3rd foundation mentor for the Tigers. Hale has 15 years of MLB coaching working experience with the Tigers, Washington Nationals, Oakland A’s, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Mets.
