The Educational Benefits of Satellite Television

Satellite television offers a number of advantages including a wide variety of shows to watch and even numerous music channels to enjoy. Satellite television can also provide numerous educational benefits as well. Educational programs are certainly not new, but they have definitely increased in variety and number since satellite television became more available to consumers. One of the first educational programs to be broadcast specifically for children was Sesame Street. Since that time a wide variety of educational programs has been developed for children of all ages as well as adults.

Increasingly, parents are discovering that television can actually be educational for their children. There are numerous education channels offered by satellite television, including National Geographic, Animal Planet, Discovery Kids channel, Biography, the History channel and so much more. There are always numerous educational shows and documentaries offered by satellite television at any given time for kids to enjoy as well as learn from.

Age Discrimination In Employment Act Of 1967 – Some Highlights Of The Important Act

The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) of 1967 originated from the Civil Rights Act which was converted into law in 1964. The Civil Rights Act, through Title VII, suggest that discrimination present in the workplace in terms of color, race, religion, gender and national roots should be prohibited. Discrimination against age was not yet included then. Later, in 1967, a study completed by the US Labor Department revealed that age discrimination was prevalent, to which Congress reacted by coming up with the ADEA of 1967. This act gave protection to employees with ages ranging from 40 to 65. Through the years, the law was constantly updated as necessary.

The major changes in the ADEA of 1967 are chronicled in this article.

In 1978, the ADEA’s enforcement was transferred by then President Jimmy Carter to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). It was also in the same year that Congress further extended the protection to include employees of up to age 70. Nine years later, the age ceiling was removed, to protect so that older people are protected against discrimination. The Civil Rights Act of 1991 revised all the primary civil rights law being implemented in the country, which included the ADEA of 1967. The act reversed some decisions made by the Supreme Court, thereby making it difficult for plaintiffs with age biases to win cases. The biggest single problem I see with my clients’ email campaigns is that they are sporadic. They mail every day for a month, then get distracted or working on something else, and forget to mail their current list. Then a month later, they are ready to start mailing again, and they send a few emails and find response rates are REALLY low. The reason is that the people on your list literally forget about you and how you can help them. You know how it is, you get a lot of emails each day yourself, and you only have time to open so many of them… So here is the solution: Don’t send broadcasts. Put your complete email campaign on autopilot by putting all your emails into your followup sequence.

Each new email you write, put it at the end of the sequence. Then…focus on writing for 30 minutes each day. Preferably before you do anything else, then you know that if nothing else gets done today, your email gets written. Here’s what I suggest: Write a 200 word email with a daily tip. Put it in your autoresponder.
