Fashion Yesterday and Today

We are living in a world surrounded by numerous things that are either related to the technology, the latest gadgets or the latest fashion. And Fashion today has made its significance felt in almost all sectors of life. Fashion can be termed into two groups: One group which follows fashion trends and adopts them and the other group who create fashion and style statements for the others to follow them. It can also be extended to another set of people who rarely have anything to do with fashion trends but yet follow their own style to create their own unique personality; adding one more style to the fashion world.

Fashion is not just about cosmetics and make up or the hair-do. It is a sense of creating the charisma of looking good in anything you wear and this magic is created with the right kind of accessories going along with the foot wear and the clothes, making up a pleasant picture to view. Many a times, people who do not afford to buy expensive clothes look their best in their casual wear, just by presenting themselves in that manner of sophistication and creating an aura around them with the confidence of looking good.

TV Wall Mount – Keep Your Television Safe

A TV wall mount typically comes in kit form. It is used to mount a flat screen TV to the wall and keep it secure.

Types

There are basically three types of kits that can be used to mount a TV to a wall, each type has sub types geared toward holding different weights.

The first type and the least expensive is the stationary model. This model simply secures the TV to the wall without any type of movement. This mount will not allow the TV to move from side to side or up and down.

The second type is the swivel model. This model will allow the TV to swivel from side to side. The TV is mounted on the wall mount and the arm that the TV sits on can move using a swivel mechanism from side to side.

The third type of mount is a free motion model. The mount can move up and down and side to side. This is the most expensive model and the most difficult to install.

Installation

Installing a TV wall mount is a two man job not for the mount itself but to lift the TV onto the mount. It is best to have two people available to lift the TV onto the mount.

Student Blogging – Using Daily Blogs in the Classroom

Daily Blogging

The word blog is slang for weB LOG, which is a “journal” that is available on the web. Educators are beginning to use blogs in a variety of ways. Some teachers use blogs to communicate with parents about weekly events in their class. Other educators use blogs to share their ideas and teaching experiences with their colleagues.

Our grade six class has started using blogs to improve our writing by sharing daily class and school events with parents and friends. Each day one student is assigned to write a blog about the previous day’s events. Students may write the blog at school or at home using Word Press.

I require the bloggers to write a detailed entry and to edit it to the best of their abilities. The students take these assignments seriously because each entry is assessed and counted towards their writing mark. Some students write their blog at home after the day is over and those without computers or internet access at home write them the next day at school with the help of an educational assistant. Furthermore, Students that struggle with writing use a program called Co-Writer to help them spell more efficiently when writing their daily blog.

History of ZZ Top

Like the state of Texas, where they come from, ZZ Top combines rural primitivism and urban image in a way that has led to a perfect synthesis between provincial rock’n’roll and high technology.

When, in the late 1980s, Forbes magazine published the list of celebrities in the entertainment world with the highest profits worldwide, only one rock group, U2, ranked above ZZ Top among those who had amassed greater fortunes. However, they have managed to stay curiously away from the rock’n’roll high society circus, and remain immune to the “rock messiah” syndrome that generally haunts other artists of their stature. In almost thirty years they have traveled the whole planet with their tours, although they have never been away for a long time from their base in southern North America, and the description someone made of them when they started, “that little old band from Texas”, even today they fit like a glove.

Billy Gibbons, who was a graphic arts student, began playing the guitar in The Moving Sidewalks, a psychedelic “garage” band from the 1960s whose debut single, “99th Floor,” ranked highest on the charts.
