I and other customers using it confirm the clarity of its image format with a natural detail. It is a digital programming accessible through cable, satellite, and over the air. Things you need to access HD TV are: HD cable box, HD decoder, (This may be either built into the TV or in a separate set-top box) and HD satellite receiver, or an antenna. You also need an HD capable TV designed to show the sharp, fine detail images and pictures from the HD signals. It is wonderful that HD also accepts standard definition (SD) and enhanced definition(ED) signals.

What to Look for when Buying HD (High Definition) TV?

Before you buy, try to check on your friend or neighbor who own one and watch it. This firsthand experience will justify your extra cost you are spending on it. Snapshot: The Wacky History Behind 3D Television Technology

How did our path to 3D TV get started? Was it because of some fluke? Or was this the plan all along?

Below I’ll outline the history of 3D TV technology in this article.

Prior to 1900

The road to 3D TV technology all got started way back in 1844 when David Brewster invented the stereoscope, which allowed photographed objects to be seen in 3D.

Fast forward 11 years and the Kinematascope was born in 1855 allowing a camera to capture 3D images in motion.

Right before the turn of the century, renowned British film maker William Friese-Greene took things a step further by securing a patent for the process of 3D movie production. His patent made it possible for a person to see a 3D image from two films positioned perpendicularly to each other.

1900 to 1935

Around 1915, film makers produced the world’s first 3D movie, which could be viewed via 3D glasses with two colored lenses.

This in turn became a prelude to Robert Elder and Harry Fairall’s mainstream film masterpiece ‘The Power of Love’, which is known as the first 3D film ever produced.

This was followed by the first color movie utilizing 3D technology in 1935.

1935 to 1960

Due to World War II there wasn’t much in terms of the advancement of 3D technology until John Baird showcased the first ever 3D TV to the world in 1958. His research which eventually led to his creation of the 3D TV was heavily influenced by … Continue Reading ...

3 Ways To Catch Live Television Programs On My PC

There are 3 ways in which I can watch live television programs on my PC and I am going to share it with you how to do it here.

Using PCTV Device

PCTV device is a form of hardware that enables me to watch television programs on my PC through an internet connection. It comes in PCI card and USB version. Personally, I prefer the USB version as it can be used on both PC and laptop plus I do not have to open up my computer. Watching TV on PC with PCTV device involves only a one-time investment. You pay for the hardware and that’s it. It’ll still set you back by more than a hundred bucks at least though.

Free Online Channels

There are online streaming websites that feature live tv and I started out using them to watch television programs on my PC at first. However, being free, the programs get cut off or stop from time to time due to slow loading of video. Also, the selection of channels are limited if they ever show up. I guess all these are caused by a limitation in the bandwidth which gets used up in no time with many people accessing at the same time.

If you are contented with mediocre video quality and occasional stops in between shows with grossly limited channel selection, free online channels will be sufficient for you.

You can download a toolbar that let’s you watch live tv online for free at toolbar.class-ad.comContinue Reading ...

There is a huge range of Sony Bravia LCD TV’s and the KDL32W550 0U is one of these, and they are at the top of the range. Although the 1920x1080p Full HD panel is now pretty standard, the “W” series displays was one of the first.

These feature full LCD televisions are very affordable and this particular model has 4 HDMI inputs as well as Applicast, which enables the unit to be connected to the internet. A USB port allows for handling of all types of photo, video or music files and it also comes with an Ethernet jack with which DLNA PC files can be stored, or can be used for the Applicast service.

Technology used includes 100Hz Motionflow and of course the Bravia engine image processing. Retailers are stocking these TV’s at reasonable pricing and this is one of the more attractive aspects of buying this technologically advanced TV.

It consists of a 32″ screen although it does not look as large as this because of the attractive glossy black bezel which frames it. They come packed with a protective film over all the parts which may get scratched. So one has to assume that these parts should be kept well protected! But this is the way of the world, even out cell phones come with these protective coverings and they get scratched eventually with use.

This is a compact 32″ television with a relatively small footprint so if you are short on space, it may be ideal … Continue Reading ...
